Henry Gates, in his work "Canada: Patriotics, The Wilson Series" had no listing for this postcard.

It is possibly the rarest of the J.C. Wilson patriotic postcards designs. This was one of several Wilson Patriotics to be issued during the Boer War. WLS-P09 Types I & II are similar, however this card bears a redesigned image of the Soldiers of the Queen, captioned with the battles of the Boer War.

A copy of this card was sold by auction in June 1987 by Jim Hennok, part of an extensive collection of J.C. Wilson cards and covers. That particular card was used as an advertising card by J.J. Turner and Sons, Sail, Tent, Awning and Flag M’f’rs, Peterborough – Ont. Canada. The card had a Port Hope & Toronto RPO No. 2 postmark dated July 20, 1901.
